About Ashtyn Johnson.
Coach. Athlete. Straight Shooter.
Ashtyn doesn’t train you for a moment. She trains you for a lifetime.
For 16+ years, Ashtyn has coached people through far more than workouts. She’s helped clients understand why their back keeps bothering them, why their squat doesn’t feel right, why they keep getting injured, or why years of “getting in shape” haven’t actually made them feel better.
Her approach is built around one simple idea: your training should support the life you want to live — not just the body you want to have right now.
That means movement quality matters. Mobility matters. Strength matters. Endurance matters. Nutrition matters. Mindset matters. And, most importantly, they all have to work together. Building your confidence and rewiring mindset are some of what sets her apart. Ask her clients and they will all agree. You often hear that fitness is a journey, but beyond that she helps each person understand that it is not just a journey to a goal, but that this should be part of your life. Fitness and movement should be your routine as natural as caring for your personal hygiene.
Part of her process is helping you learn to take chewable steps until it becomes a natural part of your life.
Ashtyn’s background spans strength coaching, endurance training, movement mechanics, and nutrition. She doesn’t see these as separate pieces of fitness. She sees them as parts of the same system and your training should reflect that.
She has an eye for movement. Give her a few minutes watching someone move and she’ll often notice compensations, limitations, and habits they’ve never been aware of themselves. From there, she builds a plan around what your body actually needs.
That might mean telling an experienced lifter to put the weight down and rebuild their movement. It might mean helping someone who’s never felt comfortable in a gym learn how to move with confidence. It might mean preparing a client in their 50s for their first marathon, or helping someone return to training after years away.
The goal isn’t to do more just for the sake of doing more, it’s about moving with intention.
It’s to build a body that works well today and keeps working well for decades to come, and to teach you that investing in yourself now will provide you with a better quality of life in the future.
That means slowing down before speeding up. Fueling your body instead of constantly restricting it. Learning to move well before chasing heavier numbers. And understanding that the strongest training plan isn’t necessarily the one that beats you up the most.
It’s the one you can keep doing.
Because Ashtyn isn’t interested in what you can accomplish for six weeks. She’s interested in what you can still do at 70, 80, and beyond.
